Gen. Dwight d. Eisenhower

This is General Dwight D. Eisenhower. President Roosevelt decided that Eisenhower would be supreme Allied Commander in Europe, and later decided that he would be the one to lead the invasion of Normandy. After the war, he became a war hero, and got lots of fame from this, which lead to him becoming the President of the United States and serving from 1951 to 1960.
gen. Omar Bradley

This is general Omar Bradley. Bradley was hand-picked, personally by General Dwight D. Eisenhower to command the 1st U.S Army during the invasion of Normandy. Under Bradley's command, U.S soldiers successfully liberated Paris, took control of the first bridgehead over the Rhine River, and led his troops to meet up with the Soviets to win the war.
Charles de Gaulle

This is Charles De Gaulle. He was put in charge of the 4th Armored Division after the Nazis invaded France in 1940. During the war, De Gaulle tried to make good friendships with resistance forces in German occupied France. By the time of D-Day, De Gaulle practically represented the Free French movement. After D-Day, De Gaulle came back to France and helped liberate Paris with U.S forces.
